Every year, the French National Day resounds with music and fireworks across the nation. In Grenoble, the sky will light up on 14 July, bringing smiles to both young and old. Arrive a day early to enjoy the celebrations happening not only in Grenoble but throughout cities across France.
The fireworks will be launched from the Bastille at 10pm. A band will be playing from 6pm, see more information here.
Welcome Reception
On Tuesday July 15, join us for an unforgettable Welcome Reception at the historic Bastille of Grenoble, perched high above the city with stunning views of the Alps. We kindly ask you to arrive between 5pm and 6pm, so that everyone can be at the top by 7pm when the reception begins. Please remember the last cable car down is at 11.30pm.
When registering for the conference, please indicate whether you will be attending the Welcome Reception. Places are LIMITED and will be allocated on a first-registered, first-served basis.
Wednesday Evening
Between the Welcome Reception and the Gala Dinner, Wednesday evening will be free for attendees to enjoy at their leisure.
You might take this opportunity to go to the Bastille (especially if you missed the Welcome Reception), explore the Grenoble Museum, or simply stroll through the city. Both the Bastille and the museum are free to access with the GPASS. The GPASS also offers discounts on various other activities and in selected shops—perfect if you’d like to bring home some local products.
In addition, between Wednesday the 16th and Sunday the 20th, a free music festival will take place in the city centre from 7 pm each evening, here is the programme. What better way to end the day than with international music acts.
